Hoa Binh University’s Faculty of Traditional Medicine Contributes Over 100 Million Vietnamese Dong to Aid Students Impacted by Typhoon Yagi

On the morning of October 10, 2024, at Hoa Binh University, the Faculty of Traditional Medicine (FTM) organized a ceremony to donate over 100 million dong to assist students severely impacted by the storm. This is a highly meaningful initiative, showcasing the spirit of solidarity and compassion of the university, especially the Faculty of Traditional Medicine, in supporting students to overcome difficulties and continue steadfastly on their academic journey.

The event was attended by:

  • Dr. Nguyen Van Ngu – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council
  • Associate Professor, Dr. To Ngoc Hung – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, HBU President
  • Professor, Dr., MD. Nguyen Duc Trong – Vice President
  • Ms. Pham Thi Viet Ha – Representative of Sovico Group

Along with representatives of faculty members and students from the Faculty of Traditional Medicine.

During his speech at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. To Ngoc Hung expressed pride in the compassionate and cohesive spirit of the Faculty of Traditional Medicine community. He emphasized, “Amidst continuous natural disasters, especially the severe impact of the lingering storm, many students have faced losses of homes and property. The support gifts presented today not only hold material value but also reflect love and sharing among teachers, students, and friends. Furthermore, this is an opportunity to affirm the community service spirit of traditional medicine students, who will become dedicated doctors contributing to a better society in the future.”

During the ceremony, the Faculty of Traditional Medicine presented 10 support gifts to students facing difficulties due to the storm. Each gift was filled with care and sharing from the University and the Faculty:

  • 01 gift worth 20 million Vietnamese dong was given to a student in particularly challenging circumstances.
  • 01 gift worth 15 million Vietnamese dong was allocated to a student who suffered significant property damage.
  • 08 gifts worth 10 million Vietnamese dong each were provided to students experiencing hardships in living and studying conditions due to the storm.

 

Associate Professor, Dr. Tô Ngọc Hưng and Associate Professor, Dr. Hoàng Minh Chung handed over the 10 gifts to students affected by the storm.

Representing the supported students, Ms. Nông Thị Tàu expressed sincere gratitude to the University Council, the Board of Directors, the faculty members of the Faculty of Traditional Medicine, and all students who have always stood by and shared the difficulties. Ms. Nông Thị Tàu emphasized that this timely assistance not only helps alleviate financial burdens but also serves as significant motivation to continue striving in their studies and lives.

The student support program for storm-affected areas by the Faculty of Traditional Medicine is one of the many activities of Hoa Binh University aimed at comprehensive and sustainable development for students. The University not only focuses on academic studies and research but also prioritizes supporting student life, creating the best conditions for them to overcome all obstacles, thereby developing themselves and contributing to society.
