Environmental-friendly design and digital communication in sustainable development

From March 20 to 23, 2024, in Hanoi, Hoa Binh University organized an experience-sharing focusing on environmental-friendly design and digital communication in sustainable development and field visit program for students from Nanyang Polytechnic at Vietnamese enterprises .

In today’s context, eco-friendly design plays a crucial role in sustainable development. At the same time, thanks to the widespread use of the Internet and social media, messages about environmental protection and sustainable development can be shared widely.

Websites, blogs, and social media platforms provide powerful tools to raise awareness and promote positive action. The combination of eco-friendly design and digital media offers great potential for sustainable development. Industrial design, architecture, public relations, and communications are among the fields that attract significant attention in both Vietnam and Singapore.

In the opening remarks at the event on the morning at Hoa Binh University, People’s Teacher, Assoc. Prof. Dr. To Ngoc Hung emphasized the essential role of digital transformation in education, closely aligned with market-oriented teaching in the context of sustainable development in Vietnam, as well as in many other countries around the world.

Hoa Binh University (ETU) and its international partners have been actively promoting the application of educational technology, teaching practices, and internship in enterprises, opening up numerous opportunities for students. The academic exchange between Nanyang Polytechnic and the officers, lecturers, students, and business partners of ETU originated from initial cooperation negotiations conducted by the university’s leadership during their visit to Singapore in late April and early May 2023.

Ms. Daniele Deborha, representative of the delegation of Nanyang Polytechnic, expressed her delight at visiting the university and exchanging expertise with lecturers and students of Hoa Binh University. She emphasized the importance of designing educational programs based on technology and aligning them with the practical needs of the market. Additionally, she shared insights about the learning environment, training programs, and notable design products of Nanyang Polytechnic in Singapore.

On behalf of the delegation, Ms. Deborha expressed gratitude to the university for the warm reception and for facilitating connections with the university’s business partners. She highlighted that this is one of Hoa Binh University’s strengths, as it allows international faculty and students to gain practical insights into the Vietnamese market.

Following her remarks, during the Talkshow session, led by Mr. Le Van Than, Head of the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts and Architecture Faculty at Hoa Binh University, lecturers and students from both institutions engaged in a lively discussion on the topic of eco-friendly fashion and communication for sustainable development. Ms. Ngoc Linh, Head lecturer of Fashion Design at Hoa Binh University, shared insights on the three pillars of sustainable design from environmental, social, and economic perspectives.

As part of the event, students from both universities shared their creative design projects. Among them, students from Industrial Fine Arts and Architecture, Public Relations and Multi-media Communication, and Tourism faculties of Hoa Binh University had the opportunity to showcase their innovative projects.

Students sharing ideas on applied arts, eco-friendly design and sustainable development

Notably, the project “Scrap Fabric and Fashion” by students from the Faculty of Industrial Fine Arts and Architecture at Hoa Binh University advanced to the next round of a national creative design competition. Additionally, the communication video “Blossoms of Incense” from the Faculty of Public Relations and Multi-media Communication at Hoa Binh University was ranked among the top 5 outstanding communication videos in the Asia-Pacific regional competition for sustainable development, part of the ERASMUS+ project organized by Polytechnic University of the Philippines in January 2024.

Hoa Binh University, along with the delegation from Nanyang Polytechnic, visited several businesses in Hanoi specializing in design, architecture, and digital communication, including Laser Media, Master Media, Eurotile, and among others.
